Today we’re sharing her Wallflower Temporary Tattoo project which is super easy and a perfect DIY for the beach, a music festival or just for fun!  Check it out below!

DIY Wallflower Temporary Tattoo
An excerpt from “DIY Temporary Tattoo Art, Easy Step-by-step Instructions for Watercolor, Henna, Flash Tattoos and More!” by K. L. CAO.

Materials
—Scissors
—Wallflowers template (click here to download) copied onto 8.5″ x 11″ temporary tattoo paper
—1 – 2 make-up wedges

1. Use scissors to carefully cut out each flower, working as precisely as you can.

2. Take one of the cut-out flowers and remove the clear film from the tattoo paper. Place the paper sticky side down on any flat surface of the body where you will have enough room to place all the flowers in your design. (I chose the top back of the shoulder as my starting point.) Press gently to make sure the tattoo adheres to the skin. Repeat to create your first layer of flowers.

3. Soak a makeup wedge in water and shake off excess. Gently dab the backing of the tattoos with the wedge until the paper is saturated.

4. Gently peel the backing away from the tattoos to reveal the images.

5. Repeat application as many times as needed in order to fill in any gaps. In between each application make sure the skin is dry before adding on another layer of tattoos. Once all the tattoos are dry, head out the door and get ready to stand out.

Vancouver is holding one in support of it’s issues and we are planning on attending in respect for the movement (and if we’re being honest, we can’t believe we still have to protest these sort of things). Yet, here we are. Nothing like a bunch of rainbow coloured notebooks to elevate your spirits for back-to-school.  And if you can make them all yourself, all the better!  To celebrate the new school year, we’ve designed a couple of free printables (a notebook cover and rainbow lined sheets) for you, our readers!  Each notebook also has a place where you can write the subject and date if you wish.  Check below for the links to the printables and instructions on how to make them! They’re super-easy!  All you need is some paper and access to a printer.

You will need:
Rainbow coloured card stock
plain white paper
computer and inkjet printer
twine or large stapler
Printable PDF files:  Click HERE for the cover and HERE for the lined paper (2 files – 1 single lined, 1 double lined).
A bone folder (optional – but makes it easier if you’re making a bunch)
scissors

To make:
Print out how ever many coloured covers you would like.  Then print out the lined pages (the number is up to you).  If you want the lined papers double-sided, print out on one side, then flip over and put the printed paper back into the printer and print onto the other side.  If you like, add in blank pages too for variety or if you would prefer a journal-style book for sketching.

Fold all pages in half and pull together with a cover on top.  Tie together at the centre page with bakers twine, or if you have one of those longer staplers, you could staple in the centre if you prefer.  And that’s it!

To make the transition a little easier, we’ve created some fun printable school-themed tattoos to inspire all students (young and old) and those helping to get them out the door.  Add a little “RAD”, “YAY!” or a fun typewriter tattoo to your day with these free printables!

How to:
Download the pdf file here.  Print out onto temporary tattoo paper (available at craft supply stores).  Follow the instructions from the tattoo paper. The one we used came in two pieces.  The tattoo paper, and then a sticky clear film that we had to apply after we printed onto it.  Cut out  each tattoo.  It’s better to cut around the design as close as you can get to the design, so that when it’s applied, you don’t see a clear film around it.  Peel off the sticky film, press against the skin, and hold down with a damp cloth for 20-30 seconds.  Lift off the paper and poof! Instant tattoo!
